If you need glasses, take off your glasses. But otherwise act as if you can still see the words on your screen. Pretend that you can see everything clearly, even though you can't, because then, you'll really just be writing your thoughts down, without being bothered by red squigglies and spelling mistakes.
I feel like this method is better than even closing your eyes and typing, because then you won't be roaming around with closed eyes. If that makes sense. Closed eyes may be a bit of a distraction because in the darkness, you'll be likely to wander elsewhere inside your mind, perhaps off-topic to what you were originally writing about.
By taking off your glasses, you'll be keeping all other variables constant and just remove clear vision, so the feel of the writing process is still the same. You're basically just removing the innate grammar-checker inside your brain because you won't be able to see the mistakes anymore. Cool beans.
